Joint Tenants

...The following night John was allowed to stay. They had room service and the sex was just as wonderful as the night before. Jasmine thought she could get used to this!

But that was not entirely true. She sensed the chemistry between her and John was eroding. John was so enamored with her, and yet she found herself withdrawing a little more with each visit.

Wade was constantly on her mind.

John got up from the mussed bed and stood looking in the full-length mirror at himself. He struck a muscle-man pose for kicks. Naked, he was a study in bronze. Deep caramel skin with the blackest of hair and mustache. He looked a bit like a bandito, making Jasmine giggle. He looked very sexy, too.

&#147What’s so funny, lady?” he growled as he looked at her reflection in the mirror. She was such a lovely, voluptuous woman, amid the rumpled bedsheets.

“You look so cute with your little tight butt.” She collapsed in a fit of giggles. “I wish I had a butt like that.”

&#147Well, I’m glad you don’t!” He turned, jumped on the bed, and crawled over her to nibble at her skin until she shrieked in helplessness.

He could be so much fun, Jasmine thought as they wrestled for a few moments. Then he kissed her passionately.

&#147John?” Jasmine broke away to look into his eyes. “What are we doing?”

&#147We’re about to make love again,” he answered, nipping her nose.

She pulled away. &#147No, I mean really. What are we doing in this incredible room, naked and—”

&#147Don’t you love it here?”

“Of course I do. But...is it real? I find it hard to absorb all this luxury. I’m just not used to it, and I feel like it’s not real.” She wasn’t sure what she was trying to say. It was really the “love thing” that didn’t seem real.

&#147Well, let’s see.” John sat up and covered his nakedness with a sheet. &#147We’re here because I can afford it and because I want to show you a memorable time. Memories are important, you know.” He looked at her sternly. “And I want to be with you. Does that make sense enough?”

Jasmine nodded in agreement.

“And I love to see you happy. Is that so wrong? Is that what you wanted to know?”

&#147Mmmmm, I guess,” she replied. It was still like a fantasy-world to her.

“And I want to show that I love you!” John added.

“But you don’t have to buy me things to show that! Money doesn’t always buy love...”

“What are you trying to say?” John held her chin in his hand.

&#147Nothing. Nothing I guess. I suppose I’m just overwhelmed, that’s all. It’s beautiful here and I am happy. Thank you so much.” She kissed him and he kissed her back. Soon they were lost in their desires.

She decided to give Wade a call Friday morning. John had breakfast with her, then took off for work, leaving her to take the limo.

John and Jasmine were quiet over breakfast. It was delivered to their room, so they could eat in their warm robes. John heartily ate his huge breakfast while Jasmine picked at hers. If John noticed, he didn’t comment.

She noticed John had quite a bit of champagne in his Mimosa. He kept adding more and more champagne to his orange juice. She had only one glass, and she could feel it. She would be no good for work if she had another. Did wealthy people drink all the time? she wondered—because she had noticed John imbibed quite a bit whenever they went out.

John kissed her at the door before he left, promising to call her around ten.

The limo driver had instructions to pick her up after work and take her back to the Hyatt, where John would join her for dinner.

Three nights with John’s lovemaking and declarations of love were not overwhelming her, as she had anticipated. She wanted to see Wade again. When John called her later that morning, she told him she wanted to beg off for that night.

That left him a bit confused. After their wonderful two days at the Bel-Air, what could she be thinking? He really wanted to get her out of town. He was certain he could woo her properly without that Wade character looming about....
