SKINNY ROMANCE IN A FAT SOCIETY

Dr. Morse, founder of the Rubenesque Romances line of books and author of 3 Rubenesque books, is an expert on fat and romance, or the lack thereof in American society. "Fat and Skinny had a race, all around the pillow case." Dr. Morse asks, "Is that a childhood nursery rhyme or a 'Freudian slip?’" Dr. Morse points out that in Ruben’s day fat women were considered beautiful. Dr. Morse also points out that older women have to try twice as hard to fit that 'skinny’ mold.

"Millions of men and women live depressingly lonely lives," says Dr. Morse, author of Fat—the Wicked Witch of the Waist. "Accepting oneself is the first step, but we need to feel loved before we can take that step," Dr. Morse explains in her motivational seminars. A Rubenesque Romance reader wrote, "Keep telling it like it is." Joanne recalls a trip to Austria, when she was 44 and weighed over 200 pounds. An Austrian businessman looked her over and said, "American men are fools.... In fact if you keep going east, you’ll find that you’re too skinny."

"Rubenesque Romances fill a very real need in our fat society." and Dr. Morse is the person who can tell you why. Joanne combines her life experiences of living in a fat body, with her expertise in psychology and Neuroscience for an exhilarating overrview. Fat prejudice exists in our 'fat’ society in areas from Personal Ads to personal aid. We see it the size of seats for theaters, cars, and planes. No one understands the issue better than a fat person — or one whose been fat and skinny as they cruised the yo-yo-diet roller coaster through life. Dr. Morse has been on that ride for over 30 years. At 57 Dr. Morse is dieting once again (with some success). You’ll enjoy her humor and her down to earth approach to the issues of being fat and finding romance in America.
