The speaker pointed to the scale, grinning like a fool the whole time. Julia looked at the rickety old thing and thought it would probably make everyone think she was fatter than she was. She sighed once and stepped onto the metal base. It creaked annoyingly and the room fell silent as if waiting for some prophetic word from on high....
